The Hetrick-Martin Institute (HMI), is continually working to make the world better for LGBTQ youth. HMI believes that all young people, regardless of sexual orientation or identity, deserve a safe and supportive environment in which to achieve their full potential.
HMI oversees the arts and cultural programming at Harvey Milk High School, which is located directly above Juice Generation's Astor Place location. We're thrilled to be partnering with HMI on several initiatives to support local LGBTQ youth. In addition to implementing a nutrition awareness campaign that encourages access to and knowledge of healthful foods throughout the school year; we work alongside HMI's youth members in a Job Readiness Training (JRT) program by creating and collaborating with students on a special juice. We'll create opportunities for students to learn about everything from juicing, proper food handling, and flavor profiles right down to designing the packaging, and working alongside our creative team on marketing initiatives for launch. Juices will be sold at all Juice Generation stores, with proceeds going right back to HMI. This will give students a firsthand opportunity to 'grow back' to their community.
