Products

  • Is your produce organic?
    We juice with organic produce whenever possible. In winter months we use mainly certified-organic produce, but in summer we often choose pesticide-free produce from local upstate New York farms. Check our “Daily Specials” menu board to see what organic produce is available in the store.
  • Is your wheatgrass organic?
    Yes. Our wheatgrass is always 100% organic.
  • Why do you only offer one size smoothie?
    We have standard recipes and it is simpler and quicker to serve one size smoothie. Our 24oz smoothie can be split into two 12oz cups.
  • Why do you use frozen fruit in your smoothies?
    We freeze ripe bananas daily and use them for our smoothies because they create a better tasting and thicker smoothie. Some of the fruit we use in our smoothies is frozen so that we can source quality ingredients all
    year round.
  • I don’t like to drink very cold smoothies. What can I do?
    We use ice to make the smoothies thick and cold. If you don’t want us to add ice, just ask!
  • Is your orange juice fresh?
    Yes. We squeeze fresh orange juice every hour. Just smell our stores!
  • Are your juices gluten-free?
    Yes. Our fresh juices are gluten-free.
  • Are your juices and smoothies vegan?
    All of our juices and smoothies are vegan except “Protein Knock-Out” which contains whey protein.
  • What type of almond milk do you use?
    Our vanilla almond milk is non-dairy and vegan.
  • What type of soy milk do you use?
    Our vanilla soy milk is non-dairy, organic and vegan.
  • What is hemp protein?
    This certified-organic protein is a raw whole food made with only one ingredient: non-GMO hemp seeds. Our hemp protein is free from animal products, corn, dairy, eggs, fillers, gluten, soy, wheat or yeast.
  • What is agave nectar?
    Agave nectar is a plant-derived sweetener with a very light taste. Many people prefer agave nectar to other sweeteners because it has a lower impact on blood sugar levels. We use as little as possible, just enough to balance flavors. If you want it left out, please ask. Our agave nectar is certified organic.
  • What is spirulina?
    Spirulina is a blue-green algae that is rich in protein and beta-carotene.
  • What is yerba maté?
    Yerba maté is a type of tea made from the leaves and stems of a tree that grows in the South American rainforest. With 24 vitamins and minerals, 15 amino acids, abundant antioxidants and naturally occurring caffeine, yerba maté is considered one of nature’s most healthy stimulants. Our yerba maté is certified organic.
  • What is açaí?
    Açaí is an organic berry grown in the Amazon rainforest and considered to be one of the most nutritious fruits on the planet. The açaí we serve at Juice Generation is certified organic and blended with guarana for energy. Guarana contains some caffeine.
  • Why are your sandwiches sometimes sold out?
    Our sandwiches are prepared fresh every morning and are usually sold out after lunch. We do not sell
    day-old sandwiches.
  • Where do you prepare your sandwiches, salads and soups?
    We have a central commissary in Long Island City and deliver to our Manhattan stores every morning.

Store Policies

  • Do you offer a delivery service?
    We don’t deliver. Our partners Cooler Cleanse and Healing Cooler both offer delivery of fresh pressed juices.
  • Why do you charge sales tax?
    It is New York State law; we pay this tax to the State.
  • Why don’t you accept $100 bills?
    We regret we can’t accept them, due to problems with receiving counterfeit bills.
  • Do you have public bathrooms?
    Sorry! The NYC Health Department does not allow us to make our staff bathroom available to the public.
  • Can I call in advance to place my order?
    Yes. But during busy periods, we serve in-store customers first. When you call, please ask how busy we are if you are very pressed for time.
  • Can you juice my produce if I bring it to you?
    To ensure safety and cleanliness, we can only put the produce that we purchase and clean ourselves into
    our juicers.
  • Can I add my own powder or medication to the smoothie?
    Sorry! This is against the law. There is a danger to other customers if residue is left in the blender container. You can stir in additional ingredients after purchase.
  • Why can’t I bring my dog into the store?
    We love animals, but the NYC Department of Health does not allow dogs in our store.
  • Why can’t I bring my bike into the store?
    We also love bikes, but our stores are small. Please, leave your bike outside!

  • Do you sell gift cards?
    Yes. Gift cards are available in any amount and valid at any Juice Generation location.
  • Do you offer discounts for frequent customers?
    No. We try to use quality, organic ingredients while keeping our prices reasonable. We don’t offer discounts on
    our products.
  • Do you offer off-site catering?
    Not at this time.
  • Is Juice Generation a franchise, or part of a chain?
    No. We have been independently owned and operated in NYC since 1999.
  • Who owns Juice Generation?
    Eric Helms is the founder of Juice Generation. He continues to work with our team to oversee operations at all
    NYC locations.
  • Do you offer franchise stores?
    We do not offer franchise opportunities.
